has anybody got one they would like to sell / lend ?

reason im asking is that im after getting some decent performance figures for the vectra before it goes in for its remap on the 3rd of july to compare the performance before and after. Theres no claims made, but upping it from 270lb/ft to 400 lb/ft has got to do something for the in gear acceleration times.

Ive already got the G meter app for the iphone, But it only does 0-60 and 60-0. Was wanting to do a 30-70 time etc.. :(

yeah

unfortunately it has a habit of guessing your times.

It measures your acceleration and if you stop before you get to 100, it just uses the acceleration figure to guess the rest of the figures.

Eg i end up with a 0-100 time even though i never got to 100.

The other problem is it gives 0-10, 0-20,0-30 times but theres no way of telling it what you want. Dynolicious just has the skidpan function, and the timed run function. Timed run just gives you what it wants, and because its got a habit of guessing stuff, it comes up with some wierd stuff

First run i did, i did a 0-60 run with it lieing flat and straight. And it gave me a 0-40 time of 9 seconds, even though i did 80mph.

its just not reliable enough. The g meter app seems much better and reliable, but only does 0-60 or 60-0.

I've used Dynolicious on my Itouch and was very impressed with the accuracy. What I did find is that it needs to be mounted solidly to the car, for this i used masking tape on the centre console then double sided sticky pads to the masking tape so it didn't budge.

At York I managed a 14.9 @ 95 mph, 2 weeks later Dynolicious times me at 14.99 @ 96 mph.

I honestly think it's quite accurate so long as it's mounted correctly.

well i sellotaped my iphone on top of my cup holder (with its cover closed providing a nice flat surface)

And i managed to get this :

IMG_0097.jpg

0-60 in 6.62
0-100 in 13.51

1/4 mile in 14.56 @ 106mph.

0-30 was 3.22 and 0-70 was 8.29 making my 30-70 time 5.07 seconds.

Impressed with that. can get my 0-60 time down if i can avoid getting wheel spin and T/C kicking in. I managed 0-60 in 6.1 after about 6 attempts or so with the G meter app when i managed to get away with hardly any wheelspin.

I wonder how Dynolicious compares to PocketDyno in terms of accuracy, or how accurate they are in general on the iphones? We tried this with my mate's car (a 1.6 Megane Coupe) and we got times ranging between 8.3 (too quick) and about 9.5 secs :)

You have reminded me, i really must dig out my old g-tech thing (god only knows where it is). Would be fantastic to run it on the pork. As far as i remember it doesnt do 30-70 etc though, just 0-60, stopping distances, and 1/4mile.

Thanks, in a round-a-bout way :D

its very accurate if you can keep the thing exactly flat and level

as soon as it starts moving it throws it out.

you can see this for youself with the G meter app for the iphone. You can trigger the 0-30 run just by tilting it forward and holding it there. It treats the tilting as a g force and you can see the speedo increase all the way up top 60 sat holding it in your hand at your desk !

It shows the G force increasing as you tilt it more and more. I can get a 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds just by holding it at 45 degress lol

keep it flat though, and its remarkably accurate.

How flippin' long is your 3rd gear

Thats something a lot of people comment on. Its very long geared. It managed 155mph in 4th on the dyno at powerstation. On the basis it does 105 in 3rd, i can well believe it.
