if one of the guys is dead then you can't do anything about it, apart from restart if you really needed him :/
tbh i just left the troops on follow all the time and the only time i lost one was when a tank blew them up
iirc you can pick up ammo, just walk over the enemy's gun, and as long as it's a similar gun e.g. assault rifle, then you get some more ammo.
you can only heal at the end of each level or when you can resupply when the chopper lands or you get the APC parked up near ya. yeah it's a bit of a nightmare when your health is in red and then it autosaves hehe, so you always restart with almost no health.
i found that if a bit was a bit tough, after playing it 2 or 3 times you know what area each enemy is in, so it's not that difficult.
i find it difficult to believe that a lot of ppl bash the game because the AI is rubbish and too easy... guess they played on easy only
