Hi,

I'm about to upgrade my system. I'm either going A64 AM2 or Core 2 Duo S775. I've got my eye on this DDR2 which is at a very good price just now-

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 LA PC2-5400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-5400PHU2-2GBLA) (MY-012-GS) @ £108 inc vat

How good is compatibility now with DDR2, is it pretty much rock solid? Could I buy that ram and be confident that whether I go AM2 or S775, this ram will definitely work with whatever board I buy? The QVLs for the boards I was looking at don't cover G.Skill.

Cheers,
Simon.

Think I've decided on the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 and Core 2 Duo E6300. Again though G.Skill isn't on the QVL, in fact little if any of the DDR2-667 OcUK sells is on the QVL for this board. Any thought on whether it should work? Not too interested in agressive timings or overclocking, I just want it to work @ stock settings.

Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 with G.Skill 2GB DDR2 LA PC2-5400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit.

Thanks

Actually forget that about the Gigabyte board, back to my original question - can I buy that G.Skill 2GB DDR2-667 that's on offer this week and be confident it will work in any board that takes DDR2-667 ?
