I'm looking at getting G.Skill 2GB DDR HZ PC4000 (2x1GB) CAS3 Dual Channel Kit, and was wondering if anyone knows what the overclocking potential is.

Additional specs
A64 3000+ venice
Asus A8N-SLi Premium

I run mine at 260 mhz 3-4-4-8. They might go to 265, but they won't do 270 stably. At 260 I don't seem to be able to tighten the timings any lower. And at 200 mhz they don't like cas2, only cas2.5

Some people get better, some get worse.

Hope it helps.

instead of starting a whole new topic i'll just tag onto this one if you dont mind ;)

quick question, was considering buying HZ PC4000 or ZX PC3200 in the next day or 2, i do have an overclock on the go that i'd like to keep with a 250HTT, would i be better buying the PC4000 and running 1:1 and sacrificing on the timings or go for the tighter timing of the PC3200 and running a divider.

I recently got the ZX PC3200 and although it is good RAM, it isn't great.
It will do about 230MHz but only at very slack timings.
Even on a bigger divider at below 200MHz the tightest I could get the timings was 2.5-4-4-8.

In summary, it seems to be good everyday RAM but if you want good overclocking stuff then I would look for something else :)

Then again, I may just be unlucky :(

my set can do 270mhz at 3-4-3-5 :)

F@h for 3 weeks constant, so i think thats stable.

Thats quite impressive, of all the reviews i've only ever seen it stable at 260MHz on stock timings.

Something to think about though
