G.Skill 2GB DDR2 NQ PC2-6400

It's not exactly the same, although the timings etc are similar. The main difference is that the NQ only needs 1.8V VDIMM whereas the NR is 2.1V iirc.
For that reason only I wouldn't recommend trying to mix them.

Damn thanks for the warning mate. Wonder were Im gonna get some more NR from now? come on ocuk, you must have some. :(

Heres the spec of my NR ram...

Actually the NQ needs...

Surely I could use this and the NR at 2.0v? Im no expert on this but I wonder if I could get away with it? get some more in ocuk.

Sorry, my figures were based on my experiences with NR and NQ RAM on my DS3. NR wouldn't even POST with less than 2.1V whereas the NQ POSTs at default 1.8V

They do have different ICs though and slightly different voltages so I wouldn't recommend mixing them if you are overclocking. Mind you, if you have the money and are prepared to give it a try then who am I to pee on your fireworks?

Just an update, I got an email from [email protected] and he says...

Hello,

Yes they should work OK together, because the specs are the same.
Only the IC's are different.

Kind regards,

But now OCUK has none on sale anymore FFS!

Heh. G-Skill were the ones who told me that NR would work fine in a rev. 1.0 DS3. When they didn't, I RMA'd and they replaced it with NQ.

I would take that statement with a pinch of salt personally. I think you would be better off selling what you have and then buying something that properly matches.

Just my opinion though....
