I got 2gb of the g skill pc4000 yesterday and got it running at 260 mhz 3-4-4-8 with 2.60v.

But it won't do 270mhz or 260 mhz@3-3-4-8 or 3-4-3-8, or it won't do 200mhz 2-3-3-6 like the g skill zx. Is this normal or have I just got a mediocre set.

Also can anyone tell me what the best voltage to use is? I'm currently using 2.6v but can increase it to up to 3.2v and even further with my lanparty ultra D.

Cheers. :D

The memory will run to good speeds but not at great timings.

I can run 3-3-3-7 up to ~ 240Mhz

after that it's 3-4-4-8 to around 260 and then for top end 275 ish use the SPD of 3-5-5-10

TBH I'd buy the ZX now and use a divider

Think yourself lucky. Mine would'nt go past 238.6mhz so it went back for a refund. Not sure whether to try again or no as that was my third attempt at getting a 2GB kit. Last two kits were'nt from OCUK though.

My ZX do 255 5,2,3,2.5 at 2.7v im sure they also do 200-220 5,2,2,2

Well, looking at the G skill HZ thread, mine seems to be about average, so I guess I'm happy.

Your right, they don't seem to like running tight timings, I just assumed they would.

Probably should've gone for the zx .... :(

Neither of you are happy witht the HZ? How come? I was gonna get some myself, but might reconsider now. Personally I've found higher ram speeds outweigh tighter timings

Yup thats my 2gb kit it was one of the first UK batches of zx some are better than others I have seen a set of zx do 270fsb @ 5,2,3,2 but I am happy with mine it is only rated at 5,2,3,2 @ 200fsb

totally depends on the platform your running

I have to admit that I am a little dissapointed with my GSkill HZ 2GB kit as it wont go past 239 on a 1:1 at 2.6V. As its rated at 250 I think thats a little low with default timings. Maybe I should send mine back.
