Before I fill out the G.Skill RMA form, can somebody reassure me that the memory is definitely faulty:

Any idea how long G.Skill turn around an RMA?

It's likely to be faulty, the other unlikely possibility is duff cache on the CPU.

Can you try it in another PC?

I have my own system (i7 920, X58 Asus Sabertooth board) which I could try the ram in but wouldn't there be any problems using Dual Channel memory in a Triple Channel X58 system?

No problem.

It will just run as dual channel if you put it in the correct slots.

You will be fine running dual channel, I had a load of problems with OCZ Gold ram when I built my system and needed to run dual & single channel.

The sheer amount of failure leads me to believe that it might be voltage/ timing or some other issue related.. test in a different board if possible.

could be timing/voltage related, but going off that screeny id say its one chip on one of the ram sticks thats faulty.

try the sticks individualy, see which one is bad :)

Timings and voltage are correctly set.

The system is an i5 750 in a Gigabyte P55 UD3 mobo. Before I ran Memtest I loaded bios defaults, rebooted, and then set the timing and voltage (1.66) and everything else was left at default.

Ran one stick over night which came up blank, have the other running now (though I haven't checked if there are any errors yet).

Ran two long tests with each stick on its own and got no errors.

I've got both back in the system now and will run memtest for another few hours to see if anything comes up.

I had some simliar issues with the OCZ ram, the first set would BSOD and show mem test errors, these were replaced but the second set were not stable when running Prime 95 or IBT, running each stick individual or dual channel the system run fine.

I ended up sending the motherboard and CPU back for testing but these were returned ok, at the some time I ended up buying the Patriot ram and the board and ram come together and after testing found that with the OCZ ram running triple channel I would het stability issues, running the Patriot all was well, returned the second set and these were comfiremed as faulty and still happily running the Patriot memory.
