Hi, I'm in the market for a new monitor.
I'm looking at getting a G-sync one at around 27" in size.
Currently I have a GTX 1070 and plan to keep that for another year.
I was mainly looking at getting a 1440 but came across a greatly reduced 4k monitor for roughly the same price.
The 4k one does seem more 'future proof' and I plan to keep it for a good many years, probably until it breaks.
Do you people think I could game comfortably for the next year with a 1070?
I mainly play BF1 and other FPS games.

Thanks :)

OH NO! Meant to say the 4k 28" is the same price as a 24" 1440!
I can't edit the title :p

Do you like high fps or are you content with around 30fps? my downclocked 1070 in my laptop does achieve frames of around 30-40fps on ubisoft games on a mixture of medium and high settings, but it may struggle in the future. I've found games that arent made by ubisoft actually do quite well fps wise and on average i get 45-50fps.

Where as on 1440p you will be averaging around 80-100fps on these titles with vsync switched off.

As long as it doesn't seem too jerky. I'm quite an old gamer so the days of fast twitchy CZ are long gone.
I didn't know they made laptops with such a high spec!

In that case I would go for the 4K for sure. If you are not the type to upgrade monitor often it makes more sense. When you upgrade to Volta next year, you will be glad you went 4K.

Tbh with a 1070 then I'd go with the 1440p, it'll handle the res far better esp with demanding games. 4k is still extremely demanding, and personally I'd only go that route if I had a 1080Ti...

Yes, I was fully intending on getting a 1440. But I found this 28" 4k for the same price as a 24" 1440.
Just wondering how feasible it would be to use for a year or so until I upgrade gfx again.
