G-sync monitors are now becoming available and they use display port 1.2? or is it 1.1, Whichever isn't that important what I want to know is:

Once we get the new version of displayport (1.2a) on monitors will the future G-sync monitors include it?

Will they be able to include it?

Someone elsewhere implied there would be no point in having both together but wasn't the free-sync capability tacked on too an already arranged displayport update?

Sorry if this has been answered else where but I was unable to find it.

Technically there's nothing to stop companies like Dell, Asus etc updating their firmware to allow 1.2a functionality (There's no major hardware change AFAIK)

That's assuming you can update monitor firmware of course...

Then again why would they go to the trouble when they can sell you a new one for extra profit.

What I meant to ask is Will the next gen of G-sync monitors include Displayport 1.2a? Once they release regular monitors with it will G-sync monitors be built with it or do they need to stay on the older displayport?
