Hi, sorry if a silly question, I am about to pull the trigger on a 165hz monitor with Free-Synch. I then hear I will be capped to 60hz as I have an Nvidia card. Is that correct please?

AFAIR is used to give warning about not being officially Certed for G-Sync (you can ignore and enable it) but now that is gone in the NCP (it says G-Sync with no warning) so Nvidia must have added it sometime later, I run it 165HZ @ 10bit.

I got it from this video. Around the 43 second mark.

He's talking about a 75hz samsung monitor and you are buying a completely different LG monitor. They are not the same. I wonder what it is that makes you think that this video is relevant to your purchase? :)

Thanks, it was just that you may not get the advertised refresh rate if you don't have g-synch. I'm a noob I know.
No worries. Some of the earliest Freesync monitors that were advertised as 75hz didn't work in most cases above 60hz when using an Nvidia GPU without frame skipping or simply no picture. Some could be manually OCed to 75hz but results were usually not great. This really isn't much of a thing anymore with newer releases of monitors and if it says 165hz on box you should get that no matter what brand of GPU you are running. Most early Freesync monitors were also pretty trash :) thankfully that is mostly over.
