Any laptop with NVidia GPU *direct* connection (no optimus) will work with G-sync monitor.
Laptop panel G-sync support is completely different (its actually NVidia implementation of Adaptive Sync) and its neither used nor needed for standalone G-sync monitor.
Make sure the GPU/graphics in your laptop can use (external) G-Sync (if its the GTX1070 it should) and like above has a direct connection/mode so it can talk to the G-Sync module.
Thanks for reply's. It is a 1070 in the laptop and from further reading it might only work if I use the mini display port and not the hdmi port. But nothing confirmed
