So I just realised there are G Sync monitors available (24") for under £200 now.

This got me thinking about x34 monitors and other high end stuff. The freesync variant comes around £600 and they charge over £800 for a Gsync version.

I assume the panels are almost identical but this Gsync tech adds the cost.

Do different sized/specced screens require a more expensive module, or is the tech the same regardless?

How come £200 can buy a complete unit, yet it seemingly costs over £200 to add the feature to lots of other screens.

Easy, companies exist to make money and not to be charities. Supply and demand dear fellow, if they weren't selling then the prices would drop ;) :D

But from a technical aspect is there any difference between modules in different screens or is it one unit across the whole range?

Maybe there is cause one is processing 1080p at upto 144hz and the other is doing 3440x1440 at upto 100hz.

Hiwever it's more likely a case that it's easier to ask an extra couple hundred for G sync when you're already spending six hundred for the base monitor.

I think that capability will come from the quality of the panel, not so much the processing involved. Although I have literally no idea.

I mean currently the x34 freesync is £589... its gsync is £799 and an AOC 24" Gsync monitor is £199. Its bonkers.
