G-Sync Windowed Mode

Sounds really dodgy are people who rely on turbo buttons screwed? I never knew of these issues but with AMD dead what can you do when they refuse to support freesync?

If you are going to play games with an opensource version of the same thing you best have your premium version polished. This is not how Nvidia do business they really need a good kick up the bum.

I run gsync windowed mode with no issues, so I am guessing you mean with multi monitor? It looks like this is a windows DWM issue so needs microsoft to sort out their end first?

I activated this the other day as a game I was playing was better in windowed mode and the g-sync worked well. What didn't work well was spotify! No idea why but the UI became really stuttery so I turned on my monitors on screen refresh rate overlay and the refresh jumped around from 30 to 60 when selecting things then upto 144hz when not interacting with anything.

Even moving the Spotify window around on the desktop caused the refresh rate to jump around.

I'm getting the same with Spotify, it's really annoying!

Yes i am using two monitors, seems ok atm playing full screen windowed but i am only playing CSGO the past week or so. Have both monitors set to 120hz as i noticed some issues was with a second monitor running only 60hz.

I've found a fix, turn off hardware acceleration in spotify

Spotify hardware acceleration seems more problems than it is worth - I've had issues with from time to time conflicting with Firefox's hardware acceleration.

That is one of the limitations of GSync windowed mode, it can make other windows 'stutter' whilst you have a game or something else active that makes use of it.

Anyone have any more info/updates on this? I'm new to GSync and am using a FreeSync monitor. Exclusive full screen seems to work fine in all games, but in borderless windowed 90% of games have flickering / refresh rates not being synced with frame rates, or GSync simply fails to activate.

My googling has led me to the GSync windowed issues, which seems to fit the bill far more aptly than just blaming the monitor, which is working fine with exclusive full screen. I'm on Windows 10 and have only one monitor.

What's also disturbing is some games don't even seem to offer working exclusive full screen, just borderless windowed.
