q6600 G0 stepping when?

does anyone know when these chips will be hitting the uk

i rang ocuk sales and asked do you know when the Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient 95W Edition cpu will be in and the reply i got was "no idea"

So if OCUK have no idea and they distribute them, then chances are no-one here will know for sure either.

Basically he is saying they are at the mercy of Intel. They could be next week, they could be next month, they could be September! No-one has G0 Q6600's right now in the UK.

The 1333Mhz FSB chips like the 6850 are G0 and are in stock. The 1066Mhz FSB Q6600 G0 isn't.

AFAIK his post was to the effect that he did not know when they would be arriving but that as soon as he knew he would update everyone.

They order from multiple sources and at present they were still shipping B3 stepping.

Same situation elsewhere, nobody in the UK is claiming to have Q6600 G0 for sale yet.

Its not just The UK I don't think they are for sale full stop, US or anywhere.

There doesn't seem to be any hard info about release dates, however these two comments are from a US store

"We still do not have an ETA quite yet. According to our latest info from Intel, the G0 Q6600's have started shipping, in limited quantities, from Intel late last week. They are expected to be very tight for a while, which means they will be fairly hard to come by at first. We're currently working every angle possible to secure these chips. It's a very difficult process for us to ensure we get the new chips, as most of the distributors and suppliers still have a lot of existing B3 inventory."

and

"There is strong indication that we will begin filling orders around August 6th. This is not yet set in stone, but preliminary reports from one of our major suppliers says that our order has been allocated, and will be filled the first couple days of next month. While this is not yet guaranteed, all signs look good so far".

as mentioned, there is a retailer in Canada that has now shipped out G0's and a few had a chance to overclock them. Nothing special from first impressions. 3.2 on air if you are lucky. Am i allowed to post a link to a retailer that does not ship to the UK?
