Also i have to balance coil whine as i have had tinnitus so it would drive me bonkers. Galax claim ceramic coil protection but nothing on the G1. Im still thinking SOC is my best choice but any experience if G1 should be avoided for people like me? Cheers!

I have 2 970 G1's and there is no whine from them.
As for the logo you have two choices, unplug it from the pcb or just switch it off using Gforce experiance

oh, how do you turn it off with Geforce Experience?

i have a 980 G1 and no coil whine, but it's probably a crap shoot, you could be unlucky with any brand.
