G11 Keyboard with no audio control

can anyone help me figure out how come my G11 keyboard's volume control wont work? I have the g-series drivers installed from here:

but it doesnt seem to work. i thought there might be some sort of on-screen display when you do rotate it (for volume up and down) but nothing.

I have that keyboard, the only think that show the volume changing is the little i con in the system tray, if you open the volume control and move the dial it should move up or down, thats what mine does, if not you may have a faulty G11.

Have you got the mute button on ?

well it was working, yesterday so i know it's not broken. The only config changes i have made was to uninstall fddshow and install the latest nvidia drivers. nothing else.

I should also say that i dont know how i made it work in the first place. i just installed the drivers and that was that.

how do you get the little icon (for sound) appear in the system tray?
