just bought a g15 v1 off my mate and was thrilled :D but it was a tad dirty so decided to give it a clean.....

upon removing the black trim and trying to carefully remove the ribbon cable it snapped clean in half :(

would have been nice if the ribbon had a cm or 2 more slack as i'm sure it would have been fine then :(

any ideas how to get a replacement/fix? will logitech send me a new ribbon cable? or does anyone have a broken one they wouldn't mind sending me the cable :D or is there a way to fix it? there are lots of connectors so trying to solder on wires would be a pain in the *** :p can i get the same ribbon cable form somewhere else?

help meeeeeee :P

Logitech customer support are excellent, you should be trying them first instead of asking here.

yea ive sent them a support ticket... see what they say :)

What ribbon cable is it, what is the spacing of the wires, and what are the ends like? Soldered, or a connector.

ummm its fused with the base of the lcd screen. so only one free end thats your typical flat printed cable.

was it the ribbon cable for the LCD screen? if it was they'll probs be everywhere on the bay,

yea it was and i have had a quick look but cant see anything :(

I had a broken one lying around for years. I just threw it out a few months back as I would never have used it. I had all the cables as well. I realise this didn't help you :p. Sorry

would rather a replacement part than 50% off tbh.... bought this keyboard for 25£... dont fancy spending another 30-40£ :(

Logitech support, are some of the best in the business, the screen on my G15 broke, with like 30 days of warranty left, contacted support , boom had a replacement keyboard by the end of the week, and was told to bin the original job done :)

yea i have heard awesome things :) but this keyboard is bought off a friends and v1 so I'm guessing it's well out of warranty now :(

Some times they don't even ask for a receipt, you may have to take a photo of the item with a ref number they are giving, hand written on a paper.
