Hey guys, I hope I'm posting in the right forum.

So I spilt some beer in my G15 earlier, I cleaned it the best I could and it's still working and seems fine. I'm just wondering if it's a risk to leave the keyboard plugged in?

Should I expect the keyboard to go really sticky in a few days?

Any tips/advice appreciated.

Thanks

I think you need to rinse beer away under tap(?), dry as much water as possible by shaking / towel. Then leave for at least 24 hours in airing cupboard type place. But before you do, wait for confirmation from someone else :)

Edit: and leave unplugged while there may be any moisture inside.

unfortunately, the beer might go sticky requiring a more intensive clean (perhaps with the dishwasher)

don't use a dishwasher, it'll wash the letters and numbers off.

no chance.

this IBM keybord i'm using now is so well used that the keytops are polished to a mirror finish, yet the letters and numbers are all present and accounted for.

Spilt a pint of cider directly onto my Laptop keybaord tray one time (while it was on), put it in the oven for an hour and it was fine, weird no?

G15 keys wash off fairly easily, IIRC. Or rather a few of mine are rubbing off from normal use, and I think I've seen complaints along those lines before. =\

Thats somewhat different to being blasted with water and detergent at 60 degrees. :p
