G2 dead, what next?

I wasn't a regular user of the G2, occasional seated driving sessions was all I used it for, but now it's dead I'm missing it.

It just died abruptly yesterday - I'd already had a replacement cable so pretty sure it's not that, I just got blue screen in the headset at the end of a session, it went off and I can't get it back on again - no error, no light on headset. I do have the light on the breakout box on the cable, so I think it's getting power, but tried all possible combinations of USB ports and DP ports, it just seems like it's stone dead, and I'm out of warranty.

I've got a Quest 2 and it's OK, but image quality is noticeably worse than the G2. I toyed with the idea of getting another G2, but the mixed reality experience, and the three times this one got RMA replacements before it finally died, have put me off.

I'd kind of hoped by the time it died there would be an obvious alternative for PC Sims in VR, but I don't think there is. What are my options?

Thanks for all the advice. Still slightly annoyed the G2 died, and unlike a PC I can't really troubleshoot. Will try to recoup some cash by selling for spares, but as I don't actually know it it's the cable or the headset that died it's hard to know how to price it...

As to a replacement, Pico 4 probably looks like the best option, based on price. It does appear that there would be an image quality and FOV upgrade from the Quest 2, and the Quest pro still doesn't strike me as worth the money, even after the price drop.

As others have said, we're crying out for a proper displayport connected HMD at a decent price, ideally without the shenanigans of WMR. I guess the market is still too 'niche' to justify it, given HPs exit from the VR scene.

Think I'm going Pico 4. HP quoted me £375 for a refurbished headset only with 90 days warranty, so not doing that.

I have a fully boxed G2 here, controllers clearly OK and one out of cable and headset faulty - my best guess is the headset itself. Other than it not working, everything is mint - I've even got an intact cable clip, which usually breaks.

I was considering putting on eBay to let it find it's price but I hate eBay, so was thinking MM on here. But no idea how to price it - any thoughts?
