g20 trouble

I was in the city during the anti-capitalist protests in 99 (i think, may be 2000) when all the dogs on string brigade had their fun and I was walking past just as the mcdonalds on cannon street got trashed.

It's always just a bunch of ****** and middle class wannabee rebels in self-conciously stupid hippy garb kicking off and then celebrating by getting messed up.

"Six protestors detained trying to drive an armoured vehicle into London"

Did they really think they would get very far in that thing?

(its on the BBC news homepage)

PK!

Did they really think they would get very far in that thing?

Even if they did, where would they park?

"C'mon man, the protest is about to start!"
"Shut up, I've just found a parking meter... oh crap, did anyone bring some spare change? I threw mine away at the anti-capitalism rave last night..."

:D

Haha! All the protestors are unwashed, uneducated layabouts with no jobs! Haha!

While we're making sweeping generalisations, how about this one? This forum is full of middle class capitalist materialist Thatcherite Tory boys.

well the ones you see on TV at 6 usually are.

So easy to generalise when that's all the TV will show.

Some guy who eats from a tesco dumpster to proove a point.

The point being that food can be ok after sell by date lol

Well who else has the time to stand around on a workday and pointlessly protest about things they couldn't even begin to understand?

And thats a problem because...?

Just been down to the Bank of England, its rammed there with loads of protestors, stuck around for a couple of minutes, wandered the hundred yards back to my bank just in time - security locked the doors behind us as a few hundred more protestors marched past...

We're now not allowed to go out at lunch :(

What is G20?

The G-20 (more formally, the Group of Twenty Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors) is a group of finance ministers and central bank governors from 20 economies: 19 of the world's largest national economies, plus the European Union (EU).

People who have lost their jobs and maybe their homes thanks to your mate Goodwin and his ilk?

What a complete farce. Bankers and city workers being told by their employers to try and not stand out by wearing a suit? Why? So to avoid trouble from a few unemployed communists? They certainly wouldn't stop me.

Watching Sky News a few moments ago, they found Russell Brand at the protests. When asked why he was there, all he could respond with in his ridiculous manner was "Because I live here"... Wow. I say get the tear gas on these anarchists, or better still a water pump so they can clean their dreads.

So nothing to do with Labour's economic mismanagement of the economy then?

Labour put all the regulation in place that presided over this fiasco, they are ultimately responsible for that.

They have also insisted on implementing massive unfunded spending policies, encouraging debt in the public sector as well as encouraging people to take more and more debt.
