g20 trouble

Gah this annoyed me today, most of the people that were being interviewed by the media didn't even know why they were there, they just covered up using a scarf across the mouse/nose and talked crap and sounded confused....

There were between 3,000-4,000 protesters. I strongly doubt that they were outnumbered by the police, let alone the media.

Fully agree with the police getting the batons to these turds. Waste of space. Russell Brand stuck in the middle of it. He is as much a tool as all the other wasters. An awful lot of them seemed to be the green or pinked haired type who obviously have no jobs purely because they look like complete knobs! It really really gets to me all these numptys, especially when half of them can't even explain what they are there for!

It doesn't matter what facts/opinions are trying to be put across with these protests as the majority of those involved are there for a laugh or cause trouble ruling out any thread of credibility for the few that have good intentions.

On the upside the riot police get an excuse to bash a load of spongers without too much chance of repercussion.

I want to see what happens tommorow.

So far all this has done is make the protesters seem like a total joke, what happened to them bringing down the city etc? :p

Did you watch the video ?, WTF is going on with all the photographers, there's about 50 of them surrounding that chap while he casually swings a pylon into the RBS's windows, very strange indeed, he was practically egged on to carry on doing more damage tbh.

What a boring non-event, the protesters were outnumbered by press, let alone the police.

No difference to a normal day at work apart from more people in jeans!

Indeed - I actually expect if NO press/media had been involved or covered anything, and NO additional police had been involved... today would have been pretty much like any other day.

Protestors and the authorities are as bad as each other, just whip each other up.

I had to go into town today to get to the England game.

Got the train into London Bridge with my Mrs, and proceeded to walk from there to Fenchurch Street to meet a mate for a couple of beers before heading to the game.

I figured I know my away around the city well enough to duck and dive and thus avoid all the trouble spots, this worked reasonably well until we got towards Fenchurch Street station and were faced with a mob of the great unwashed coming the other way.

One of them decided to insult my Mrs for absolutely no reason, 25 year old soapy starting on a woman, brave. Not so brave when I told him where to stick it, and a copper came over and moved him on. I also saw them trying to kick in doors of offices along Fenchurch Street - not the AIG building, or HSBC, or anything like that, but the doors of smaller firms that didnt have security outside, brave. All of those their to incite trouble had their faces covered, of course they did, didnt want to get nicked for it, brave.

All in all, it seemed like another pathetic excuse to start trouble, bunch of thugs hiding behind a few genuine believers and a bunch of teenagers simply up in town for the day out. Reminds me of the anti capitalism protest a few years back when all they managed to do was smash up McDonalds on Oxford Street.

The general consesus of everybody we spoke to in the pub was that it was a damn shame the police didnt break the thing up and nice and early with a few well placed baton charges.

Totally false.

Capitalism does not exist without capital. Capital cannot survive without debt.

Have you read Marx at all?

Anyway, I don't really want to discuss this here. Very few people on this forum understand either politics or economics.

wrong, capital can survive without debt.

The man was found after collapsing at a protest camp near the Bank of England.

Police said bottles were thrown at them while they attempted to treat him.

He was later pronounced dead after being taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Good old protesters, throwing bottles at police trying to help a dying man. Nice one fellas!

So I'm just watching the news and they are in a conference center right next to London City Airport, given terrorists past history with aircraft doesn't that seem a bit odd ;)

I walked up for a look after work yesterday and saw a load of the anti-capitalist, anti-globalisation lot (or whatever they stand for) eating Domino's Pizza in Queen street... oh the ironing! :D
