G3 ibook (500mhz) Power lead + battery

Got a friend with a G3 mac ibook.

His power cables duff, and the batterys knackered too.. Wheres the best place to source a power lead and battery "cheaply".. or just a power lead if it will work without a battery.

Any help would be great, he bought a yoyo power lead from ebay, but it doesn't fit

does nowhere sell them at "non" ridiculous prices? and he wont buy off ebay, since buying one the seller stipulated would work in his G3, and it doesnt... so i cant blame him for not wanting to wait 3 weeks for a P/cable that doesnt fit lol

no skin off my nose, i hate macs... i keep telling him to sell his crummy 0.5 ghz ibook and get a real computer...
