Just a thought. I want as silent as poss MITX build on a non-overclock G3258.
Not seen any market solution for it. But......I do have gathering dust an old P4 MB with a Core2duo CPU...This has a passive cooler on it.
TDP is about the same ( Duo is higher I think) so considering a hack to mount it to the newer socket..............Just wondered if any one had any advice on going about this.
The cooler is one that had a brief appearance but worked well and got good reviews, solid copper with the fins shaped as a butterfly. Forget what it was called.

There are these "nofan" coolers and such, but they are large and so unlikely to fit in an mITX PC

As above, your best bet is just a nice high end air cooler with a program such as speedfan to keep the RPMs nice and low

I realise I need at least nominal air movement, I can achieve this by using a 120mm slow spinner for negative or positive pressure or 2 x 80MM such as Gelid Silent with resistors fo establish a throughflow. Plenty of fans and controllers to play with, thats not really the issue, what I am trying to establish is if anyone has made up a bracket to adapt a bare heatsink to an115* mounting.
I will probably have a go myself, just that if its already been done it might speed up the job.. Seems a pity to waste two heavy copper heatsinks.
