g33m - D2SR losing PCI express on boot

Hi,

I have an issue with my new motherboard. When i restart or turn off and on the display switches back to the onboard VGA.

Settings are

init first display: PEG
onboard VGA: enable only if no peg detected.

To get the xt1600xt working again, i have to go into the bios, press f10 and it works next boot. if i then reset it will go back to onboard.

Any ideas? driving me insane

Long shot but change the init first to PCI or increase the ide HD detection delay to 5 secs or something similar? I'm thinking that the card may be taking too long to re-init on reboot and the extra boot delay could help it.

nope, turn off, then on and a lovely black screen until i swap the cable to the onboard socket.

I want to kill it.

just reseated the card.... it has worked once.
We shall see. i still hate it.

Have you tried asking Gigabyte? Maybe it is some quirk in the BIOS?

seems sorted, must have been something mechanical.

Could be it just wasn't seated firmly enough and not making the mobo do the switch.
