G34WQC - Ultrawide dark patch / shadow in top middle

Hi all,

Unboxed the G34WQC today and when I was checking for dead pixels I noticed a dark patch / shadow on the top / middle part of the screen.
Is this something “bad”, or is this par for the course of a budget-ish curved VA panel?

That looks pretty even distribution to me. I have the same monitor and it is not too dissimilar, mine looks slightly more even than yours but that may be an artifact of the camera. It's a good monitor.

If you are worried talk to overclockers tech support - I started off with the G27Q but had to send it back as all the corners, particularly at the bottom, had so much orange backlight bleed any games with dark in them looked like I was being haunted by radioactive oompaloompas and overclockers were great, they took the monitor back and I had a good long chat with their tech support about monitors and ended up going with this one instead because I couldn't countenance the colour orange.
