G41 DDR3 vs P43 DDR2

Hey all,

just a quick question, im not looking to upgrade just yet as i feel my comps still up to everything atm, however i ordered a new mobo for my media centre, and rushed slightly buying a g41 with DDR3 slots instead of DDR2, meaning i had to then buy some DDR3 Ram, now would my qx6800 be better suited with the g41 and DDR3 or the p43 and DDR2.

Google has not found any comparisons so far apart from 1 discussion which goes off track rather quickly.

I would say a QX6800 is total overkill for a media centre.

nononon, the qx6800 is in my main pc with the p43 and DDR2, my media centre is a core2duo 6700 or something and thats the one with the new DDR3 mobo, what im asking is wil i see a benefit from moving my main rig over to DDr 3with the g41 chipset or stay with p43 and ddr2

You will probably find the G41 board wont clock as well as the P43 board.

apart from that will i see any difference, as i havnt seen the need to overclock at all, the 3ghz quad is doing me fine. Im just wondering if i will see an improvement in general from the faster ram etc..

If youre running at stock then go for the DDR3 board
