My MX510 is getting on a bit now, so its time for a change.
Ive been looking at the logitech G5, which I can get for £44 inc delivery. However Ive also found the G7 cordless version for a few quid more. Im not normaly a fan of cordless mice for gaming however this does seem good. Im just wondering if any one has this mouse and if so what kind of results they get with it. This will be 90% for css so if theres any lag at all due to the wireless interface it aint for me. Basically I need it to perform like a high end wired mouse. Any info would be great.

Cheers Jack

I've never been a fan of Wireless mouses, especially for Gaming. Although I do know that G5's are really good mice. About on par with the Razer Copperhead as some people may say so. The G7, i'm not so sure about, but the fact of it being wireless, and possibilities of it dieing out through a Source game or whatever. Totally puts me off.

Hope this helps

No lag whatsoever on a G7 and no faffing around with wires.

Gee, totaly off topic, but im moving to nottingham pritty much now with my wife and kids. Dont suppose you could give me an idea of which areas are nice and which to avoid :) msn is [email protected] is you prefer. I need to be around the uni area.

Would be a big help

G5, wired all the way i think for gaming mouses. I've still got my MX510 and i really like it!

the G7 has been discountinued for some reason but is a great mouse with no lag, although i had to change batteries almost everyday.

theres the new G5 out as well, it has a few more fectures, but Im more tempted by the extra thumb button as I currently use it on my MX510

G5 all the way. The extra button alone is worth it, not to mention the cool blue scaly covering! Got one as a warranty replacement after the copper coloured G5 died.

Had a G7 before the old G5 and had tiny issues with lag. Didn't bother some people but really narked me, so I went back wired again.

I have to change at least twice a day. The batteries last for about 4 hours of continuous use. I am actually tired of this mouse, had it for over a year now and it has lost it's sparkle for me. I am going back to wired as the G7 can be a bit laggy especially if the battery is nearing it's end. Been caught out a few times in MP games and the battery dies and so do I

Not a big fan of the Logitech software either.

That is a bit strange, I've had mine coming up on one year now and it still functions as well as it did when I started. My only real complaints are that occasionally if I'm not careful about checking for the light on the charging station the batteries don't charge and I'd have preferred if they had included a higher capacity battery. However I do get probably 8 hours usage out of the G7 quite easily.

All a bit academic since it has been discontinued but there must be a decent chance of a new one coming out based on the G5 update. :)

I'm still using my G7. Looking to buy a new mouse/keyboard, though. Not noticed any lag in the last year with my G7, and although the batteries occasionally run out whilst gaming, the big red light staring at you angrily is a dead giveaway it's running low.

Well ive disided to go with the new 7 button G5, cant do with out my knife button :p any chance of OCers getting these in soon as they appear to have the old version in?
