G5 Running Adobe Creative Design

Some advice please. The company I work for has a very modest publishing requirement. We have been happily using a silver G4 running 9.1 and Quark Express 3.1 (I told you it was modest!). We feel it is time to move 'forward' and are looking at a variety of options. The Adobe Suite will be a necessity so it is really finding the right Mac hardware to run this on.

Would a G5 with 4Gb ram suffice. If not, what would? Obviously the Pro range are built for this but they are expensive given that any solution will not have a great deal of use.

Thanks

My brother has an iMac G5, and he uses Creative Suite 4 on for photography.

Can be a bit slow when applying big filters, but then it's an iMac. The Pro should have zero problems :)

As long as you're not paying too much for the G5. They're capable enough just now, but the clock is definitely ticking.

Thanks everyone. There is obviously more to the G5 than I thought. I had assumed they were 2.0 ghz dual core machines!

The PowerMac G5s can be single, dual or quad core.

I was given one of the duals for free from work a while ago :)
