ok. so i got my new G5 from OC'ers today (great service, and stick to their delivery times)

now... im trying to set the side button up for prone in BF2, but when i try to set it, it wont show up the button. it wont show up the scroll wheel click either.

ive installed the cd drivers. are there any updated ones i need or something?

I don't have that mouse but I've got the G7 which is the wireless version, what do you get on screen in the Setpoint software? By my reckoning you should have 8 possible button options to modify.

Best bet is to use the Setpoint software as mentioned and create a config for BF2.exe (near bottom left), and then reassign the side button to a keyboard button (say [), and then set BF2 to use the same keyboard button ([).
The mouse will then emulate the keyboard.
I do this with lean left and right on the scroll left/right when playing AA.
You should also be able to reassign the scroll wheel to keyboard buttons.

I have the MX518 and the following worked for me.
You probably have to add BF2 in the "Advanced Game Settings" tab, found at the bottom of the setpoint settings.
Click add and then find the BF2.exe from wherever you installed it :)

scuse the noobism....

but... is it the advanced game settings button u mean?

well, i click browse, find the bf2 program on my desktop, and click add or whatever.

but what do you do then?

That should be it, you've done it right as far as I see. If it's in the recognised games then BF2 will now allow you to define any of the buttons on your mouse in the controls section of the game itself.
It's just that for some games you need to tell setpoint to recognise the game.
