After getting my G5 replaced nearly a year ago (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17910109) it seems this one has given up in a different way.

Started with odd skipping of pages and such, has since turned into not working for extended periods then randomly starting working again. Tried two different machines, so it's hardware not software.

Is this a common problem with them, anything to fix or am I going straight to Logitech? Found some older threads from other places in Google but can't seem to see a pattern.

3 years I think.

Anybody got experience with how long Logitech warranty takes? I've heard they just want you to send the USB plug back rather than the whole mouse.

Surviving on a £5 Microsoft thing at the moment :(

They sent me a new one without much persuasion eventually, ace. 24 hours from it leaving them in Dusseldorf.

Right then, anyone taken a G5 apart? There must be some fluff in the wheel or something - got nothing to lose... :) Any tips?

EDIT: Screws appear to be underneath the teflon pads. I'll see how neatly I can remove them.

EDIT: Teflon pads look like they'll be spent if I remove them, might have to get some new feet for it. Hmm. I've blown into the mouse and the scroll has stopped working altogether now though!

EDIT: Seems to be common! http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/board/message?board.id=hardware_mice&thread.id=11893
