Hey guys, I've been having a random issue lately with my new build where my mouse will just stop moving and the computer won't recognize it moving or clicking what so ever but the mouse is still lit up and on. The only solution I've found is to unplug it and plug it back in and it works fine. This has happened 3 times already since I've built my new computer.

Here are my computers specs:
G502 Mouse
Asus x99 Deluxe Mobo
5960x cpu
windows 8.1
840 evo SSD

Any suggestions would be great, Thanks.

I would try uninstalling all the usb port drivers via device manager then reboot and it will reinstall them.

Have you tried it in different usb ports?

my very old but still very good razor diamondback 1600 dpi mouse has started doing this lately. It pauses for a split second on the desktop then kicks back into life. Also, I hear the little "new device connected" notification tune play at often periods, sadly, there is no Windows 8.1 driver on Razer website for this old mouse now, so I'm kinda stuck at the moment. Dont want to go spending silly money on another mouse.

I installed the driver for it; I'm pretty sure I installed the windows 8 driver for it. It doesn't make the "Device disconnected or device connected" sounds until I actually replug it myself. The next time it happens I'll try it in a different USB slot. There are a lot of them so it's not the end of the world if one doesn't work. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Make sure it's plugged in to the USB ports controlled by INTEL controller, not by an extra chip. Motherboard manual will tell you this.

Also, using USB 2.0 instead of 3.0 is a good bet.

I've been experiencing exactly the same issue with my G502 recently.

It only started when i upgraded to x99. Beforehand i was using a x58 system with absolutely no issues with the g502 for months.

The original g502s had a problem with the feet falling off, and logitech generously sent me an entirely new mouse (so i have two g502s). Both of which do exactly what you've described OP.

I've tried a few things (stopped windows suspending USB in power options, stopped the devices from being turned off in device manager) with no real effect.

Annoyingly it seems a very intermittent issue, but never seems to happen while i game.

Can only think it's driver related now, and i'll be doing a full reinstall in a few days time. Will see how it goes without the logitech software.

Yeah it's weird but it's never happened when I was in the middle of a game. The closest may have been when I had a game open but I was I think laying back browsing the net quickly and it stopped then. It's been a few days now(I've changed nothing) without the issue but I feel like it will reappear. At that point I might try to reinstall the driver and plug it in a usb 2.0 drive if possible.
