I got a viper V3 hyperspeed for Christmas ( at my request) I used it for half an hour then went back to my wired Legion M500 I've now done some research (too late) and discovered I'm more of a palm grip guy I like the ergonomic shape with the thumb rest.

I do want to go wireless so I've been looking and I'm now torn between a G502 (either the original or X) or a Basilisk V3 Pro.

Most of the reviews seem to say the Basilisk is the better mouse although it's very expensive.

I just wanted to see if anyone here has any real world experience of the models mentioned and get recommendations?

Best prices I've found are
G502 £80 ISH
G502 X £100
G502 X plus (RGB version) £120
Basilisk £130 ( or £110 for white but I prefer black)

It's difficult because the OG 502 should be the clear value winner here but then the newer model is only £20 more and then the same again and before you know it you've spent another £50.

I'm not a heavy user as I'm away from home 20+ weeks of the year and get maybe 10-15 hours a week to play when I'm home.

Thanks
Scott

I've ordered a Basilisk V3 Pro but think I've got buyers remorse already as the sniper button is said to be in the way for people with big hands I'm 6'6" so fit into that category.

I've been a staunch wired user for a long time, but the Logitech G G502 X PLUS LIGHTSPEED won me over.

Quite possibly the best mouse I've ever used.

I've never got on with Razer peripherals, always ended up returning them.

Gone from wired to wireless and will not go back it's the perfect mouse for me.

If on the fence with the Razer there's also this side by side I came across:

I would suggest reading through properly rather than just looking at the base score, some of the detractions are things you might never care about. Such as the included charging cable length/quality, or bluetooth support over dongle use etc.

Well I've ordered both and will keep the one I like best keep an eye out for a lightly used mouse or 2 on the MM shortly

How'd you get on with these mate? I'm in the same position and undecided. I read the Razer has better switchgear whereas the G502 wheel feels a bit 'cheap'?

I'm away from home until next week but I will report back :)

That's exactly the feedback I was reading too. The razer apparently feels more premium but the sniper button can get in the way.

Couldn't wait so went for the Basilisk. Most reviews seems to favour it although the recharging dock is silly expensive!

Ha can't fault you. I couldn't wait to decide between the two so I ordered both.

I was thinking about just getting the puck and using a wireless charger I have already but it'll all depend on which mouse I decide to keep.

My 502 hasn't arrived yet but I'm very happy with the Basilisk I do feel the sniper button but it's not uncomfortable or in the way in the slightest.

Yeah really liking it, just wish it was a little bit 'taller' in the palm as I keep reverting to claw grip. I've surprisingly managed to keep it pristine lol! Really wanted the MX3S but with a 150hz polling rate that wouldn't sit well for gaming.

Do you find yourself using the sniper button? I've had my Basilisk mouse for over a year now and don't think I've used it once in game, as much as anything I forget it's there.

I got the Logitech G502X Plus on Tuesday while it's on sale for £120 (still over priced if you ask me). Usually I like more buttons on mice, but the reviews of multiple button mice that are currently on the market such as the KONE XP Air and Steel Series Aerox and Rog Spatha etc are mostly quite bad.

As for the G502X, my thoughts are that it is noticeably more responsive than previous wireless mice I have used, and I can certainly tell a difference in fast FPS games like COD (the G502X Plus has one of the lowest latencies of any wireless mouse with the new Plus being lower still compared to the previous non-Plus version). This mouse has a latency of 2.1ms whereas my previous mouse latency was 13.5ms). There is no wireless lag or connection micro stutters.

Size and weight is good for my large hands. I have the 11 buttons (except left and right click) all mapped to different key binds. I had sworn never to buy a Logitech mouse again due to double click issues, but I see with the G502X Plus, they have changed to new optical switches.

The Logitech GHUB software which is universally complained about, is now much improved and easier to use than when I used it last 2 years ago.

My only gripes are the thumb "sniper button" is poorly placed and I keep pressing it by accident, one of the top buttons (used for DPI switching) is hard coded and cannot be re-programmed, and the mouse lacks a little finger rest, so when using it the finger drags across the mousemat, slowing movement.

Generally all round, many of the buttons feel poorly placed and too close together, so it's hard to distinguish between them during fast paced action, but I guess everyone has different hands so it's impossible for Logi to cater for everyone.

It's taking me a lot of getting used to but I'd give it 8/10

The sniper button can be removed and rotated 180, you can remap all the g keys assigned them all as function keys on mine.

Yes I found out this morning you can switch the sniper button around, it's much better but thank you anyway

Yeah a little in photoshop work but not much in games as I don't game with a high dpi to begin with. I guess it's more useful for those playing with 4k+ doing.

I've had a bit of time to compare both mice now. Moving from the Basilisk to the G502 felt like a massive step back in quality especially the scroll wheel It really is horrible on the 502. I nearly put it straight back in the box but I stuck with it and got used to it when gaming although it's still not very nice when web browsing.

Initially they felt like they were the same size but after swapping back to the basilisk I feel like the 502 first my hand a little better it feels bigger and wider.

Overall I'd be happy with either I just wish the 502 scroll wheel wasn't so rough.

I really like the basilisk v3 pro but man the battery life sucks. Tempted to look elsewhere as I have to charge it so much, and thats with the rgb down at 10%.
