Hey Guys,

Just received this mouse from OCers its great but I cant get it to work correctly. OS is XP fully patched.

When ever I try to play a game the mouse doesn't work? its just freezes

Then when I ALT TAB out to the desktop it works again?

Ive gone to the Logitec site and have the latest drivers (Setpoint310)

Also sometimes when I have to reboot to get the mouse to work to begin with... My Razor has no problems at all so im not sure whats going on..

Any help appreciated. Thanks

I have got the G5 and use the drivers and have had no problems...Have you installed the software for setting it up? its called setpoint

Sorry to bump this but surely someone out their uses the G7 for gaming.

Is it my setup or is the mouse setup that has the problems?

Does anyone use this with BF with no issue's?

Thanks

pesky setpoint drivers
have you tried using the mouse just on the XP drivers? you may lose certain functionality but should fix it playing in games, im sure ive also read about installing the setpoint drivers, then turning off the logitech applications that load at windows startup, this way i think you keep mouse button functionality and also keep game stability.

I'm using a G7 with Setpoint 3.10 (previously 3.01) and not had any considerable problems with the mouse.

Without the drivers, my mouse wouldn't work (cursor barely moves at all) with my Steelpad S&S, but when Setpoint is loaded it works normally - I actually need these drivers to make the mouse work properly.

The only issue I have is that when swapping a battery pack the mouse goes back to acting like Setpoint isn't running i.e. the cursor won't move when on the Steelpad (but will do fine on the desk). I've made a batch file that terminates then restarts setpoint, which I just have to activate whenever swapping the battery to fix it.

However, these issues seem nowhere near as severe as yours :s

I've got 2 G7's. One works perfectly, the other frequently cut out for 5 seconds at random intervals. Tried to eliminate any sources of radio interference, and tested on several computers, but the bad mouse just sucked.

I've used them with, and without the setpoint drivers, and honestly there was no difference, at least on my cloth mousepad. The driver does add the ability to program the extra buttons though, handy when the games dont directly support them.

Sent it back for RMA, hopefully its replacement will work properly.
