Hey guys,

Have had my G& cf edition for a while now.

One weird quirk, the mouse never, and i mean never.... seems to turn off.

I know this is the idea with it being a gaming mouse, but surly when you turn the pc off the mouse should turn off lol.

I have to change the battery pack every day, as when i leave my pc in the evening the pack is dead in the morning.

Not that its much of an issue, just thought it was weird.

Anyone else get this?

Cheers

It should turn itself off while you aren't using it i.e. if you leave it alone for a few seconds it will show you the red sensitivity level then the green battery level and then nothing on the LEDs. I don't think your mouse can be functioning correctly, if you haven't already installed the Setpoint software I'd suggest doing so and seeing if there is maybe an option in there to control the length of time the mouse stays on for. :)

hey semi,

yep have got the set point drivers installed.

Has been like this since i received it.

Thats with xp, xp x64, vista and vista x64.

Going to have a look around to see if i can find some new firmware, or old firmware for it.

Are you using a specialist gaming mousepad like an Icemat or Steelpad?

If so that's probably why it isn't turning off, laser mice like the G7 have issues with mousepads that were optimised for optical mice. Try putting it on your desk (instead of the mat) when you're going AFK and it should switch off.

Morfik

i think you may have hit the nail on the head ;)

i am using a S&S steel pad, will check that when i get home tonite.

Cheers

Well thought i would update you guys,

home................

And your quite right, its the s&s steel pad that stops the mouse from going to sleep lol.

Will just have to remember to put it off the mat at night.

Cheers

Christ! I've had this mouse for months and always thought that the batteries didn't last very long.

It appears it doesn't like fUnc Surface mats either. Put the mouse on the desk and it turns off for the first time in it's life.

Wicked! :D
