looking for a new case as my silverstone just cant hold its self any more been looking at a few cases and these 2 catch my eye or a stacker 830 have more drives than is needed so i like the v2000 with its bottom section for hard drives any thoughts ???

The G70 looks very nice, and the v2000 certainly is.

Having not used the G70 myself can not really comment on how it is, but I would imagine very similar to a PC70 which was a great case.

The V series of cases are great, well built and good at cooling although not necissarily a high CFm solution.

The S80 new Lian Li looks nice aswell, will be getting one myself.

right think my mind is set on the v2000 only prob that i have seen is on some reviews they have had trouble keep cables tidy and on 1 review they had trouble getting the cables from the front 1/0 panel to the motherboard ???? any1 had this before or did lian li sort this out

The cables are really long I find, and as long as you take them round the back reach just fine.

If they took the cables through the main opening for the power connectors then I can see how they could have trouble.

Ahh its the location of the headers on that board, they are usually top left you see.

And have been on every motherboard I have ever owned, that could be the front panel connector.

Why are you looking at the v2000 over the v1000 might I ask?

space mainly and heat, i have a silverstone tj05 and in it i have 3 5.25 drives and 5 hard drives(1.5tb what can i say i do video editing) and its getting toasty (its not even summer yet) and with the drives plus a asus an8 mobo and a 1900xtx its bloody warm in my case so am looking at the v2000 for the larger drive bay as i might have to add my hardrives :(

Ahh the v2000 is ideal for that many drives, as it isolates them and there heat from the rest of the system.

Makes sense, seems more ideal now, would be the model I would personally be looking at spending my money on.

There is always the possibility that they may, but there are plenty of ways of getting around it if it did happen.

Running that many hard drives anyway means you would not buy a modular PSU so one such as the Seasonic 600w should be just fine.

I have never ran a pc in the bigger V series only seen them, as I think the smaller ones are better, because they are smaller and you don't play the premium for the extra space.

As you will be using the space you will probably find it good value though.

The heatpipe will not work in any case that mounts it upside down.

However on the A8n premium it worked, but was a little toasty.

That the motherboard you have?

From the old one I had, it will run in the case, but it will be a little toasty as the heatpipe will not work right.

For that reason you are probably forced into the G70 camp; I wouldn't be bothered its a great case, one respected case person on the forums has got there hands on one to anodise and says it is a good case, and I beleive him :)
