Well I got a MX performance for xmas,, and to be honest Im not that impressed as when I bought the awsome MX 1000, as the MX1000 is still the king of mice in my eyes..
Yeah have you ever used the mx1000, as I bought the MX revolution as I thought it was going to be a upgrade to the mx1000, but the only thing better was the new feature of the freespin wheel, with the mx1000 still beating it in all other areas,, So I went back to to the mx1000 a few week later and sold the mx rev on ebay
The performance mouse would be as good as the mx1000 if the forward and back buttons wernt so high to press with your thumb and the wheel is at a funny angle too. Plus I prefer a charging cradle to a lead to charge it, as the lead falls off the desk a lot, and it takes longer to to plug it in to the mouse. With a charging cradle you can throw the mouse in the cradle, half a second job.
Also The batts are totally rubbish on the performance as it lasts only about 2 days max..... The mx rev batts lasting about 3-4 days...... But the mx1000 lastest a week or longer.
Notice how much higher the forward and back buttons are on the performance then on the mx 1000,, plus they feel much nicer to press on the mx1000 aswel as they dont feel sharp around the edges at all, unlike the mx rev and the performance do.
Like I said the only prob I have with the performance is the position of the forward and back buttons as you have to raise your thumb to use them. The wheel is also positioned funny, but that might be me
I own the MX Performance, and if it should ever break, I would probably go for the G700. For the price you pay for the MX Performance, you're paying mostly for the Darkfield technology (Able to track on any surface) The G700 has a heck of a lot more features than the MX and with the extra buttons, you can macro to your heart's content.
