Wooops, Make sure when you plug the power pack in, you plug it in the correct way round. Just been laying on the bed with the laptop, slipped the power lead in while not paying attention, (Had it at a a 90 degree angle than it should have been at) and heard "bzzzzz" and a nice smell of electrical burning.

I had a look at the pins on the powerlead, one of the +(plus) one is black inside and managed to bend the pin a little bit inside due to the electric being on etc etc. I've managed to bend the pin back out and get it plugged in, seems to be working SO far, but from my knowledge of experiance, a burnt pin wouldn't be conductive, not sure if it is or not now, so only time will tell. Not the bestest plug in the world :(! - Really suprised I haven't fried the power board inside! :|

So, My question is, Where can I find a replacement pack just incase? And does anybody have any helpful information on this subject? Gonna need a new one as due to the pin inside being bent, it's making the plug a bit more stiffer to plug in.

Can you take pictures of what you have done please. The power supply has no pins on it they are holes on that side of the cable that goes into the laptop, the pins are on the laptop connector on the Samsung G700G7A OR are you on about the kettle lead end to the power brick ? I'm a little confused what you have exactly done. If you need a new power brick I would contact Samsung direct and ask them to replace the one you have with a new one because it must still be under warranty your laptop and reality is it should not go in any other way than the correct way.

Sorry, should have been a bit more clear. Was tired and just wanted to get the question up and in bed.

As you can see, the top right plug is black inside. I had to straighten it out, because one of the corners had rolled over when it made contact. It's not like I forced the bloody thing in, I just had it in my hand and placed it to the side, no force behind it or anything and heard a buzz so pulled it straight away. I turned the power off and I had another look, to find that you can align the pins up any way, and they will just make contact even though there's that ridge there that is supposed to stop you putting it in wrong. Bit of a pants design I think?

Need my laptop for work as well... :(

Well, there is an ARROW on the lead to show the input direction, so the lead (to me) only goes in one way.

you say its still works "So far". I was wondering though if you can run some bench mark to see iff the PSU is feeding it enough juice. I know its just one of those things - and in the dark it can be missed.

If you even place it next to it without the silver bit touching, it is possible for the pins to make contact to the plug before any of the plug is inserted, thats the whole reason it happened for in the first place. Not the best design I'd say myself, not very helpful when these things happen.

I'll have a look into doing a couple of bench marks, see what happens. What would be best to run?

Going to ring samsung in the morning, see if they can get me a new one shipped out as this thing is just knakered.

Well, to be honest, i would be a little wary in connectiong that psu at all now, as it may damage somethong. Yes, ring samsung up, new PSU, then your back to "good as new" again, but fiddling with it could make it worse

I wouldn't use it at all untill I got a new one, Just the problem being I need to use it for work so I'm not in the situation where I can just not use it. Hopefuly samsung will ship one out next day, but I really don't know :(

Can't believe it's even happened tbh. I think in future I'll connect it in the side before plugging it in. Like I say though, you don't even have to give it any force at all for it to connect. the part thats lets it go in one way, just doesn't do the trick. Kinda hard to explain unless you can physically see/do it yourself.
