G80 approved PSU List

It would seem you need a very beefy psu for sli...over 800w. However jonnyguru.com reckon a good 700w like the Seasonic M12 with a large single rail will do the job.

If each card is sub 200W, then 200x2 = 400W and the rest of the system is 200W...


I think I could run SLi 800GTXs on a Seasonic 600W

I *hope* I can scrape the cash together for a 2nd G80 next month and hopefully the 700w seasonic will do the business. Don't want to have to splash on a bigger psu as I like the modular nature of the seasonic. Only thing is the 60mm fan might become a problem with 2 G80's. The Enermax or Tagan 1kw would have much more room to breathe.

Hmmm....time to wander over to the lab and see what Power Guy is doing. I'll try to "borrow" a couple of 8800s and see what our PSUs do with them

Well, we are not on Nvidia's 8800 SLI approved list (yet). However, Power Guy has been torturing an HX620 in the lab running an 8800GTX SLI setup. It's rock solid so far. However, I'm a little suspect of his methods I may have to borrow it and do some gaming to be sure
