Hello all.

My G7 has been wonky for a while now with the left clicker not working properly. I eventually got sick of this and have phoned up Logitech. They offered to replace it with either an MX Revolution, or a G9. I'm a gamer mainly (though not a hardcore fps type), i don't do much document work.

Now, i love my G7 and i wish that they still made them.

Each of them seems to have it's downsides.
I'm not sure if i could go back to using a wired mouse with the G9.
But, the revolution doesn't have DPI adjustment (even though i don't use it much on my G7).

I may be swinging towards the Revolution.

Can anyone contribute with some personal experience?

If you're a gamer, go for the G9. I'm looking to replace my G7, and I've been considering the G9. i don't think the fact that it's wired will matter too much. It's more about the performance when gaming. I must admit, although I've loved my G7, I don't like the shiny surface - not easy to grip when your hands get a bit hot during a gaming session!

Both of you get the G9. Mine came today and I couldnt be happier with it. it fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and comes with a coarse cover for those tense gaming situations.

I have both and the G9 is much better for games, I also found the revolution had stuttering issues (I resolved these by moving the usb dongle but worth knowing it might be a problem).

A refund is out of the question as i've had it since November 2006, the G9 would be the more sensible option. But it just doesn't look that comfortable to hold, and i've been using wireless for the past 5 years, going back to wired could be annoying. Why oh why haven't they continued their line of high end wireless gaming mice?

No it's not at all, my refund is due any day now for the exact same reason you are having and I've had mine since August 06. They are unable to uphold the warranty and unable to supply you with a suitable replacement and will agree to the refund if you request it.

I am so impressed with the G9 that I bought the company.
Well, ok, a T-Shirt anyway...
Ok, so I didnt get a T-Shirt either, but I was still impressed.

Wires dont bother me. I have a tendancy to murder the battery life of Wireless Rodents, and the last wireless keyboard I bought, was thrown across the room due to the keys only working when they wanted to ( It was the betteries ) so now I use Wired...

I have to be completely honest here, but if anyone can say that they can tell a mouse is wired or not, then they are either lying or are using avery light mouse, or even a crappy one... All the good mice I have used, you simply cannot feel any kind of pull back or anythign from a wire?

Well I got the G9 yesterday, and I am loving it. I was worried about going from a wireless to a wired mouse, but I shouldn't have. I have it loaded with 4x7g weights, and the comfort grip, and it's an absolute pleaseure to use:)

I can tell the difference between my G7 (RIP) and my brothers G5 easily, and the saitek cyborg I got last week is just awful in comparison to the G7's cordless greatness.
