Hi all, just received mobo and E6600 today with HZ memory... Has anyone got any tips on overclocking this thing? or conroe overclocking guide? I'm in somewhat new territory here.. Havent used intel since the P4 3.06B.

Also where are the memory timing options? seems to be defaulting to cas3 ..

But the install went very smoothly otherwise, and idle temps are crazy low, 20C idle.. Mobos 37C though.. :(

After my posts in the overclocking thread, I would be interested in a guide about overclocking the DS4 etc. I know a lot of people have written up some really good scores they have gotten and good stable overclocks. Sadly I can build the machines, but as to overclocking the things, i am in new territory. I have to say I am impressed with the stock temps I am getting off it.

k, i figured out how to access to memory timings but its not saving any changes, its stuck at cas3 ! :(

There a new bios available to fix this? It shipped with F2 bios...

Also, what is the memory running at 266 or 400 ? I can't believe its doing 400mhz at cas 3..

Believe it!!

Have seen some of the HZ running close to 500 cas 3
Mine sitting happily at 450 3-4-4-12

Are you sure? so at stock 266*9 the memory is actually at 400mhz? if thats true why are my memory scores so crappy ? i'm scoring about the same as my X2 setup.

Well, I had a play and pushed it upto 2.88 and then mobo beeped at me and reset itselve..... but I've also noticed its also unvolting the memory, it says 2.2-2.3 on the specs and easytune reads the memoru voltage as 1.75.... Is it accurate? i'm safe to "overvolt" yes?

So what are the best settings to use for overclocking because im not going to get far like this, im at 3.5.5.15 at only 2700 so what memory multiplier should I be using ??

I didnt set it them to 5 btw, the motherboard did that.. appears I have no control at all over memory timings. :(

edit, well lowered it to 333 and now its returned to cas4.... thats more like it... Now I have some breathing room. :)
