GA-965P-S3 sound problems via digital out.

just built my pc, with this mobo and installed the drivers from the cd.

now I'm connecting the mobo to my amplifier via digital coaxial cable. I'm running on my system 7.1 so I've changed everything to 8ch speakers in the console for the audio my amp registers a signal as digital, great i think. however

when I go to do a sound test to go through all the speakers it runs the lot of them but I'm only getting the sound coming from the stereo speakers, so no centre, sub, surrounds. I've changed the input on the amp just in case but my AV equipment is perfect. so I've come to a conclusion that its having a problem outputting it from the mobo, or somethings configured wrong or the drivers are duff? has anyone had this problem or know of this problem

having similar problems here too m8
i only have a 5.1 system and the sound just doesn`t sound `right`.i am also using the medusa 5.1 headphones and get `better` sound
my amp doesn`t show a digital connection either and i am using toslink(nf7 showed as a digital connection)
i was getting great sound with my old nf7-s mobo.too early to give this new mobo a thumbs down but i will be looking into getting a sound card unless i/we can sort the sound out

decided to buy a cheap sound card (Item: Asonic C-Media CMI8768+8CH Sound Card

)
now get a dolby digital signal to my amp plu it encodes real time(7.1 from a stereo source)
just got it today,still playing but sounds good to my ears.could not get on with the onboard sound
