Hi chaps, im hoping for a bit of advice, as i think ive managed to confuse myself A LOT!!

bit of back ground, my old MOBO died, so got a ga-ep45-ds3p to replace it, ive also replaced the memory, ive got 8gb of the kingstone HyperX 8500 stuff, to replace my 2gb of geil value.

Im reusing my old chip an original E6300 which has been running at 2.8 (400x7) for the past 3 years without a problem.

ive flashed the MOBO to the latest BIOS version F8

i just cant get it to run stable, well i have done, it was running at 430x7 (3ghz) did a 2 hour blend test, then in the morning wouldnt cold boot!!!

anyway my confusion is in relation to the memory etc. ive got them set at 5-5-5-15 and at 2.3v like it says to.

but what mch frequency should i run (and what is mch frequency)

and my other problem, speed step is deffo turned on, as when i look at cpuz i can see my multiplier going up and down, i think ive got it set to dissabled, but i cant have!!

please help

Ive no idea why its suddenly not working sorry. Have you tried running with just 4GB of RAM in? Sometimes it can be harder to get stability when all the RAM slots are filled.

As for MCH, that stands for memory controller hub. Im guessing your talking about the MCH Frequency Latch? Its the same as FSB Strap on most other mother boards. Have a read here, should explain a bit better than I can!
