GA-G33M-S2 f4b Beta bios

i really cant see it, infact ill wager money on it £10 do it?
they wont release a devider fix for this mobo untill atleast the next line of mobo's is released if atall after all according to gigabyte "COUGH" ITS A HARDWARE PROBLEM THAT PREVENTS IT, AND IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN BE FIXED VIA SOFTWARE. wich id also wager money is a load of male cow dung ;)

Haven't had a chance meself, but gw'an Damian, you know you want to, in fact your sig is the reason I posted :D

so who do i collect my tenner off of? i suppose atleast my old ps2 keyboared that i havnt used for about 2 years will work a whole lot better now, nice to know im getting my money's worh :D

Hey Damian, thanks for playing :p

Heh, haven't had a chance to meself. Maybe it only works on the 1066 chips.

Anyhoo if I get a chance this weekend I'll take a butchers at it.

yeh actually now i come to think of it, its funnyy how they released added deviders for the 1066 cpu's on the ds2r but not on the s2

With the current bios for this board using a E6600 and geil pc6400 i would need to have a fsb of 400 to run the memory at its rated speed wouldnt i ?? i did have a quick look in the bios and i am sure there was a memory setting 2 isnt that for running in sync ?? i am new to intel C2D so go easy if i am wrong :o but it is going to be friday before i have a OS so cant get it running just yet .

My mistake it was auto , 2.5 or 3 and there was no 2 :p , what speed would my memory be running at when i have my cpu at default 266x9 and using 2.5 and 3 ??

What bios are you using? I just got mine and I'm having real problem getting it pass 266 FSB

The only 'divider' I can see are 3.33 and 4!!!

Only just started playing with this but i have the f4 bios now and there is still no 2 divider  so i am using the 2.5 divider with my E6600 @ 2.8ghz (just getting warmed up) 312 fsb - geil pc6400 @ 780 - 4-4-4-12

Am I going mad!!!! I'm using the F4 Beta and I don't see a 2.5 divider in my bios, all I get is 3.33 and 4.

So with FSB of 280, my memory is running at 930 ish, I want a lower divider so I can increase my FSB more...

Mlingard, is your memory timing set manually? I can't find that in the bios either :confused:

I set the memory timings manually , the only thing i can think of is that you arent pressing ctrl + f1 as soon as you get into the bios so you get the options for changing voltages etc , but if you are doing that then i dont know .

What cpu are you using ?? maybe that affects what dividers you get .

I think you may be right, I'm currently using a E4300, this may explain why Biffa can get such a high FSB on his quad. 335 x 2.5 = 837, any decent ram will be able to hit that quite easily.

yes it all depends on the fsb of the cpu, and mobo type as far as i know the ds2r is the only one to have the extra multi's added BUT they only become active on cpus with an fsb above 800, 800fsb cpu's get the finger basically.
and as far as i know the pin mod is non functionel on these boareds as i wanted to try it my self but if im wrong someone jump in as ill be doing it my self :D

Also
a german user reported that with his BSEL-modded E4400 the board wouldnt post. After unmodding the CPU the board boots up okay.

edit - what's the F5a BIOS like?

edit 2 - looks like 1:1 available for 1066 and 1333, also vcore is now limited to 1.6V (~1.55V real) instead of 1.8V (don't quote me on this, I not tried it, not have the mobo, just looking....anyone confirm?)

edit 3 - those with 800fsb CPU's will be better off selling them and getting higher FSB chips, rather than waiting indefinitely for a BIOS update IMO.
