...i`ve posted a note in OCUK CUSTOMER SERVICE for some tech advice, waited a couple of days, no reply as yet!?

...i`ve had slow boot problem for months!!!... finaly done a reformat last week but made no difference at all... still takes about 50 or 60 seconds for the black windows screen to fully appear ( kinda opaque in that time ) then the blue dots flash across as normal and starts up!... flashed the bios with every variant available!... any of you guys had any expierience of this and any ideas as to the cure?

...also is there some kind of protocol you have to follow to get OCUK customer services to actually respond to a request!?

...thanks for any help!

check bios settings
might be scanning usb devices looking for mass storage
have you got fast POST turned on?
stuff like that ...
try disconnecting things to find the culprit
I got UD3P and it boots so fast I can't read anything it says - pause button helps

It is a good idea to post your full system spec. And do you have many hard drives and or USB storage devises plugged in. I have a MP3 player that if I forget that it is still connected causes my one system to take forever to boot up.

Make sure the disk with Windows on is listed as the first boot device.

Unplug any other external disks/storage devices connected.

Enable "quick boot" in the BIOS.

Disable "Full Screen LOGO show" in the BIOS.

I've got the same motherboard, not got a problem with mine, [and I do have the logo screen enabled] though it sometimes spends a while checking if the dvd I've left one of the dvd drives is bootable [I believe this is something to do with my having one dvd set to region 1 and the 2nd to region 2]. Had a bad case of your problem on my old motherboard and turned out to be caused by the bluetooth dongle [and a usb mp3 player once] and myteriously cleared up when I plugged it into a different socket.
