I Ask This Because My PSU Is Crappy & This Mobo Has An 8pin 12v can somebody tell me whats in the box and what i will need for the psu connections.

Cheers

Well the P35-DS3P has-

4 SATA cables (might be 6. can't mind)
IDE and floppy cables
E-SATA backplate, power cable and an e-SATA cable

The 8 pin 12v connector will work fine with a 4 pin plug (the 8 pin connector actuallly comes with four of the holes plugged).

But as said above, invest in a decent PSU.

The 8-pin must come from the PSU. You do not usually get adapters with the mobo. Sometimes you can run it with just the 4-pin P4 connecters.

There is not the cable you need in the box, but as the man ^ says get a new PSU, otherwise you risk your nice new mobo and other bits. (The Corsairs are very good!)

ok, i have a COLORSit gold 550W 12CM Silent Fan PSU, it has 3 4 pin power adapters.
one is joint with the 20pin connector but its detachable but wires are joint with the 20pin so cannot be used else where. the other 2 4pin's = 1 is used for 7800GTX and the other is not used. can one of these be used? the one joint with the 20pin has diff colour wires though?

if not what is the cheapest compatible PSU for the mobo above?

cheers

Would need to know the rest of the system to suggest something.

In the first count no. The 4/8 pin +12v connector isn't interchangable with any other connector, graphics cards connectors can't be used instead.

Exception is when you are referring to a 4 pin molex that IDE/PATA hard drives, CD/DVD drives and AGP graphics cards use, if you have a motherboard that uses an aux 4 pin molex then yes, they are interchangable.

But as I said above, the 4 pin P4 +12v / 8 pin EPS12v connectors can't be switched with any other connector the PSU has and doing so might damage the board.

ok, well the 2x 4pin 12v's must be for sli or sumat :S.

my system will be:
GA_P35_DS3P
Q6600 or similar Core2Duo
4gb's ddr2-800
2x 512MB 2600 for crossfire
1 DVD-RW IDE & 1 DVDROM IDE
1 500GB SATA2

Current System:
Asrock 775TWINS-HDTV
Pentium D 2x 2.8Ghz (800 series)
2GB's DDR2-533
7800GTX
1 IDE DVDRW & 1 IDE DVDROM
2 IDE HDD's
1 SATA HDD

So i need to know which cheapest PSU to get for this system, does not have to be from overclockers. All It needs it the 8pin 12v & Enough Power For The System.

No, there are no 4 pin connectors used for graphics cards apart from molexes (which aren't blocks, they are 4 pins in a row).

2x 512MB 2600 for crossfire
I know you didn't ask for advice on the system but why man, why? Hardly an upgrade from a 7800 GTX... waste of time really. I'd rather have 2GB of RAM + HD 2900 Pro than 2 x 2600 + 4GB.

Anyway, Corsair HX520 would do fine but you should be ok just using the regular 4 pin ("P4") +12v connector and leaving the other 4 pins. From the pic it has a cap over the 4 unnecessary pins by default.

Some PSUs do have an 8 pin EPS12v that is made up of a 4 pin P4 plus a 4 pin detachable (not the same as the detachable section on the 20/24 pin ATX connector!).

thanks, i duno why i said sli fo rthe 2x 4pins, cuz i **** have known my graphics is on 6pin :S

i see what ** saying about the 2900, i will think about it when it comes to the graphics but atm im just getting mobo and memory.

also cheers 4 the nfo on the "just using 4pin in the 8slot, i saw an image with the cap aswell but cant find any reviews saying u can just use one 4 pin.

Cheers

Pretty sure you can from user comments but why not just download the manual from the Gigabyte support site?

i see what ** saying about the 2900
You said 2600 in your post, not 2900. 2900 *is* a decent upgrade (even alone), 2600 is not.

The main reason you should not get crossfire 2600 is that your P35 doesn't support it fully. You would need a P975/x38 motherboard.

The colorit PSU is awful (qtec level awful), I agree with getting the Corsair 520 :)
