GA-P35C-DS3R and SMBus problem

I have just made a new build
GA-P35C-DS3R
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency
Samsung SpinPoint T HD501LJ 500GB
OcUK ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB
The problem is that I cannot see SMART data for the hard disk and speedfan does not find any devices. SISandra reports that SMBus data may be inaccurate.
I have tried on both XP and Vista, same problem. Apart from this system seems ok.

Probably a silly question, but are you running the latest Intel drivers and not the ones on the CD or the ones built in to Vista?

I am running the driver from the install CD. I have looked on the Intel site and I've found the at INF Update Utility
at http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=N&DwnldId=12150&lang=eng

However it does not list P35 as one of the supported chipsets.
What should I look for ?

Thanks for the drivers, they certainly keep them well hidden. Problem remains. Perhaps I need to download vista updates, however as this is a stopgap o/s until my copy of XP arrives, I don't want to download Vista drivers etc.
