I have the Logitech Z-5500 speakers and am trying to make my onboard sound play in a 5.1 setting, but all I am getting is sound from the front speakers and nothing from the rear, centre or sub! I have chosen the 6CH Speaker setting in the Realtek HD Audio Manager, the analogue settings are correct but I am still not getting anything then 2CH sound.

Any and all suggestions are much appreciated!

Cheers
Tom

PS Not sure if I should have posted this here or in the Sound City forum, if its wrong please fell free to move it!

Try the audio device properties. If using XP, it's start>control panel>sounds and audio devices>speaker settings>advanced, click on 5.1

Thanks, I did the above but its already set for 5.1 surround sound speakers.. :(

Does anyone has any other suggestions, please?

Thanks, that gave me the back speakers also when trying the RealTek manager.. just reinstalled my xBox360 HD DVD Player and run the intro on a DVD and did get full surround then! Which made me a bit suprised, but happy since the 5.1 surround is actually working but for some reason not through the RealTek HD Audio Manager?!?

Anyway, its all good now.. until I get myself a dedicated Sound Card at least.. if I have any problems I will be back in the Sound forum! :p

Thanks everyone for your help! :)

Cheers
Tom
