thinking of getting a GA-X58A-UD5 and wondered if anyone had one of these running patriot viper DDR3 12800C8 1600MHz?
Any issues at all?
Failing that, what are other UD5 owners running?
Are the UD5's stocked by OC rev 2?

Im running a UD7 and found the profile on the patriot to be less comprehensive than the kingston modules i changed to.

The mainboard turned out to be faulty :p

With the patriot the extreme profile didnt set the correct voltages and when i swapped to the kingston i found that it did set them correctly.

Hi Guys,

I'm running an X58A-UD5 v2 with Patriot DDR3 12800C8 1600MHz and i'm experiencing freezing issues in Windows 7 x64. I'm currently using the FB bios. Running at stock.

Sometimes the machine will run for hours without issue and then it will just freeze. Really strange, because you can be running an intensive game (F1 2010) on full graphics for 2hrs and it won't freeze at all...but then come back to the machine an hour later, try to do something in Firefox and that little circle cursor rotates and rotates and nothing can be done...even CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't do anything, only choice is to press 'reset'.

Anyone else experienced this issue or know which bios would be best for this board ?

Thanks !

I would suggest going to the Gigabyte support site and download the latest bios for your motherboard. Please do not flash via windows. Just not safe with your situation of random freezes.

..to add, just as i was writing this, the system froze again..had to reset :(

Do you think a beta bios might be more stable ? I think this on "FB" is the latest non-beta they offer for this board.

I currently have the exact same issue! :eek:Similar spec too. Got another thread open in here, and one in GFX as i thought the issue was related to my new SLi setup. Maybe not..... Windows update causing this maybe?
