I've been having issues with my third r9 290, so I thought I would update the bios with @BIOS - it corrupted it.

The board it has a backup bios, how do I utilise this? I've found nothing online and it's out of warranty. Would gigabyte possibly rma?

Some motherboards have jumpers that you manually change to use the secondary BIOS. Check your motherboard manual for these and do so with the PC unplugged completely!

It should then boot good and you can update the damaged BIOS from there.

Never EVER update BIOS with @BIOS or any in-OS utility, always use Q-Flash or similar :) Not sure about the secondary BIOS (how to get to it) but cybilcat probably knows more :)
