Am looking at getting the GA-Z68XP-UD4 from OcUK and wondered if anyone had got one recently and what rev it was?

It was rev 1.0 the last time I called a couple weeks ago. I did call Gigabyte UK and spoke to a tech guy who was told that they will not be getting Rev 1.3 in the U.K (hoped he was mistaken but he assured me that was head office's policy) Nowhere I called has rev 1.3 either.

Sorry, you looked at the ASrock extreme 4 gen 3? more power phase than the MSI?

sorry to make your task a little harder :p

I m in the same baot

leaning toward the gigabyte through, but holding off till they get thier finger out and roll out thier gen 3 versions ....

Not a fan of asrock. I would have got the UD4 by now, only thing stopping me is the pci3.0 situation.

Looking to pair it with a 2700K and 6950 at the mo but after this I want the mobo to last 2-3 years with only gpu upgrades and maybe a cpu upgrade..

I was in the same situation but have to ask what's the difference between PCI-E 2.0 & 3.0 apart from it 'feeling' better. In real life probably 1%-2%, which is nothing so you decide.

Well thats slightly odd why gigabyte decided to do that considering all the other manufactors are shipping PCIe GEN 3 boards in all markets very strange.

Erm yeah sorry in terms of Hardware it does, has a +4 Pwn on top of the 8 not usre how that compares, not very much is likely the answer there, still capable board.

I have decided to go for the ASrock, annoyingly as I really did like the gigabyte boards.

Is this the same for the GA-Z68AP-D3? looked on quite a number of sites for the rev2.0 (Gen3) and can not find anyone selling them, again rev2.0 clearly being promoted on Gigabyte web site. Are they trying to get rid of older stock rev1.0's first?

I don't know the motive, the other seem to treat us the same as the rest of the markets

A bit confused, I take it; say a rev 2.0 board is physically different hardware wise to a rev 1.0? and not just something a bios upgrade would fix?

Correct. It is a hardware feature enabled by the CPU.
Gigabyte seems to be falling behind the curve in a few aspects; no UEFI bios and now no PCIE 3.0. Hmm
